The donation will be used to support CCTC's Project of the Year Miracle League Field Resurfacing and "Out of the Park" playground.

Corporate sponsors for the Monte Carlo Night included The Battery Giant and Re/Max Select Realty. The Rotary's President-Elect, Mike Patsy, is pictured far right.

The Rotary Club of Cranberry Township Sunrise will once again be providing a scholarship for multiple students to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Program. The Rotary has a great deal of respect and concern for the youth of our community, and RYLA looks to give public recognition to the many young people who are already rendering important services to the community and to also encourage and develop young leaders and potential leaders by providing them with a meaningful training experience.

Selected students, who will be seniors in high school in September of 2014, will attend the week-long conference at Westminster College beginning Sunday afternoon, June 8 and ending Friday evening, June 13, 2014. The RYLA schedule will be filled with stimulating lectures and discussions on leadership skills, youth-related concerns, public issues, community service activities, career guidance and recreation. The students will also be able to participate in social events in order to get to know one another and hopefully make some life-long friends. Typically, there is approximately 100 students from Western Pennsylvania that attend the event.

The Rotary Club of Cranberry Township Sunrise would like to send multiple students to the RYLA conference and is looking for RYLA nominations by March 1. Please contact Rich Inman at inman1@zoominternet.net or Bobby Zahner at RZahner@hbkcpa.com if you have a nomination.

The Student of the Month Program is a cooperative program with Haine Middle School that began in the Fall of 2000.  The Program is a highly successful collaborative effort between the Club and the faculty to recognize two students a month from the various teams that comprise the 5th and 6th grades at Haine Middle School.  Students are selected by the faculty based on over-all performance as a student and leader within the classrooms.  The recognition program includes the presentation of Certificates, names added to a permanent plaque at the school and a breakfast for the students and their families where the nominating teachers discuss the reasons for the students' selection.  It is a great opportunity to say thank you to those students and their families for being excellent representatives of the wonderful, bright students that comprise Haine Middle School within the Seneca Valley School District.

In early November, our Club received a call for assistance from the staff at Haine Elementary and Middle Schools to assist in brightening the holidays for their students in need.  As expected, our Club members responded with their generosity and passion for service.  Through that response, our Club was able to help brighten the holidays for 60 students at the Haine Schools.  Another example of what being a Rotarian is all about and being a member of the Cranberry Township Sunrise Rotary Club. Please see the Thank You note that we received from the staff at Haine Schools.
